Cinema Review #62: Zombieland: Double Tap (2019)

Zombieland; Double Tap is the sequel to the 2009 Zombieland and is a zombie comedy starring Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson and Abigail Breslin as a make-shift family fighting to survive in a zombie-infested America.

The film has a similar feel to the first film, with good chemistry between the main characters and lots of fun set-pieces. The introduction of new characters, such as Madison and Nevada, helps add new elements of comedy to the story, without taking the focus away from the main characters.

Overall, Zombieland: Double Tap is a fun experience, it just isn’t really memorable. It has some funny moments, possibly a few too many references, but not to the point of being obnoxious. I would recommend it if you enjoyed the first film or you are looking for something amusing to pass an hour and forty minutes, but don’t expect the best comedy of all time. 3 Stars.
